PROJECT OBJECTIVE: Design an autonomous vehicle that solves a problem.
GOAL: To provide a convenient and accessible way of connecting “convenience campers” to needed supplies and resources in a timely manner.
OUTCOME: We designed a robot named “Bigfoot” that can deliver purchased or rented camping supplies directly to your campsite.
WHAT I LEARNED
This was my very first UI/UX-focused project and I learned so much about the process! The different variations of brainstorming to find certain solutions and then learning how to properly user test with them was really interesting. Through this project, I discovered how much of a love I have for research and connecting that to your final solution and outcome. I also touched Blender for the first time and that was neat to begin to learn the software, I’m currently working on a bigfoot 2.0 model.
WITH MORE TIME…
With more time, we talked about what we could explore in version two. We really wanted to elaborate more on the wristband feature and explore a safety option there such as tracking location or being able to set off an alarm if you were in a situation in the woods that was dangerous. We had how might we’s surrounding this feature based on a couple of our interviews. We also looked at implementing an account feature where you could have family members added on, similar to how streaming accounts function.
